The prominent Traders Hotel, Yangon, has finally been rebranded as the Sule Shangri-La, Yangon, after renovation works that took a whopping 2.5 years to complete. To celebrate its revamp, the hotel is offering a "Celebration Package" (USD215 or S$270 a night), which includes a minimum two nights' stay in a Deluxe room, one-way airport transfer and US$40 hotel credit. You'll be hard pressed to book a five-star hotel at such prices, especially in up-and-coming Yangon (most good hotels in the city cost upward of $300)!

The former Burmese capital is the place to go right now—CNN has touted it as a hot destination, and for good reason. It's one of the last few cities in the world still bearing signs of being a 19th-century British colony, plus there's plenty of things to see, like the awe-inspiring Shwedagon Pagoda.

As for the Sule Shangri-la, it's nothing short of grand—the lobby is characterized by a sweeping staircase, white columns, tiered crystal chandeliers and intricate wall murals. The rest of the property is also decked in art like ornate Burmese vases, woodcarvings and more.

The luxury extends to the 484 guestrooms as well—expect marble bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, fine linens, 24-hour room service and more (you'd expect nothing less from a Shangri-La property, really). Then there's the Health Club, which offers 850 square meters of fitness and spa facilities. Also, food choices abound—head to Summer Palace for Chinese cuisine, The Gallery Bar for steaks and beers, Café Sule for international fare, The Peacock Lounge for tipples and the Gourmet Shop for baked goods. Plus, there's a brand-new, exclusive Horizon Club Lounge for Club members.

The package is valid till July 31; visit the hotel's official website for more info.
