It's new shops galore at Changi Airport, which means that you're at higher risk of maxing out your credit card even before you board your flight.

Barbecued meat stalwarts Fragrance Bak Kwa and Bee Cheng Hiang have set up shop in the public areas of Terminals 2 and 3 respectively. We're more excited, though, about the first ever MUJI to GO store in Southeast Asia, located at Terminal 2. The shop is stocked with lots of functional travel essentials, such as luggages, towels, toiletries and more—perfect if you've forgotten to pack something for your trip.

Other new shops open to the public include local fast-food chain 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken (Terminal 3), Paradise Dynasty (Terminal 3), and the newly refurbished Kopitiam (Terminal 3). Over in the transit areas, there's also Coach (Terminal 1), Shanghai Tang (Terminal 1), Fossil (Terminal 2), Longchamp (Terminal 2) and Tumi (Terminal 3) to blow your cash on.

If you're the sort who needs some comfort food to ease pre-flight jitters (or are dreading the thought of having to subsist on bread and more bread in Europe), head to the newly opened Singapore Food Street for authentic local fare. You'll get to chomp on char kway teow and carrot cake from Old Airport Road Food Centre, Nasi Lemak from Changi Village, Satay Bee Hoon from Newton Hawker Centre and more.
