It seems like Capitol Piazza has been storming the retail and F&B scene with a slew of openings in recent months. The newest kid on the block (and not the last) is a simple Italian restaurant by the guys who run Southeast Asian bistro-bar Supply & Demand over at The Esplanade.

Set up in the the open-concept, slightly Disneyland-ish Galleria, where the entrance to the Capitol Theatre is located, Equilibrium is a lot cozier than the space would have you believe. It's decked out in warm wooden tones, textured ceilings, dark booths and a dim library-like feel.

The simple menu is full of modern renditions of classics like carbonara pasta with parmesan foam and handmade pizzas topped with coppa ham and truffle paste. There are also dishes that deviate from box-standard Italian offerings like chunky cut fries with grana padano and grilled pork belly skewers with spicy garlic lemon dip. Oh, and this may become the perfect place to get pre-theater cocktails if you're not in the mood for craft beer (TAP is located across the restaurant).

It seems like the group has been busy, as they're also going to open another restaurant in the relaunched Marina Square. The East Bureau is a modern pan-Asian restaurant and bar opening on the third floor of the mall.
