After months of anticipation, Southbridge has finally opened. The fifth-floor bar atop studio apartments is the latest watering hole to add to the crop of pubs and restaurants along the Boat Quay strip. Although they serve a seafood-centric bar bites menu with dishes like lobster rolls and tuna tataki, special attention goes to their crop of oyster dishes. Whether you like them raw or cooked, there are tons styles by the half-dozen to choose from. We particularly like the Umami oysters with ponzu and yuzu sauce and the cooked Pearls-style oysters topped with creamy avruga caviar.

The same folks as Southbridge (the il Lido Group) are also hosting a pop-up dinner this Nov 8 at China Square lunch staple &SONS. The three-course Osteria Art dinner features six starters, mains and desserts with dishes like pappardelle with duck ragu and truffle pecorino cheese; slow-roasted lamb leg with roast potatoes; and double cream panna cotta with strawberries and Galliano. Plus, they smoke most of their cold cuts in-house, too.
