March is bringing some big news in bars—so pick your poison, Bangkok. Whether it’s the old-school private clubhouse for the rich and famous God Bar by the talented team behind Teens of Thailand and Asia Today or a jazzy speakeasy, there's a new bar and beveragino for every taste this month.

W Lounge

The original Woobar in the W Hotel has been refurbished and is now known as the W Lounge. With extravagant ceiling decorations, a floor-lit dancing area, and a menu focused on Vermouth, you know you’re in for a good time. The cocktail menu is inspired by cabaret performances around the globe, like the Parisian Rouge, which includes, you guessed it, vermouth with white wine vinegar, tamarind, and perrier. There’s also their Bombshell cocktail which is a mixture of roku Gin, sakura vermouth with sake yuzu and lemon.

Bar 99 Kao Kao

A recently opened bar in Phom Phrong, Bar 99 Kao Kao is a dimly lit, modern bar filled with photographs and greenery, complete with a snake-eating tiger logo to tie it all together. Their signature beverages are named after Japanese idioms, such as Ho-Yo, which means hug. It's a sweet and sour drink made with gin, midori, pineapple juice, egg white, and lime. There's also the Ame to Muchi, which means carrot and stick, and is their version of an espresso martini. The Tasogare, meaning "twilight," is a refreshing drink made of bourbon, lemon, jagermeister, syrup, and kaffir lime.

God Bar

God is the newest bar by Nik Anumanarajathon and Attapon De-Silva, the masterminds behind Teens of Thailand, Asia Today, Tax, and Independence Cocktail Bar. The name stands for “Genius on Drugs,” based on the idea that the bar is “progressive, experimental, and contentious.” The stained glass, exposed concrete, red lighting, and cross create an atmosphere reminiscent of a rundown cathedral. Each drink is paired with a thoughtfully picked one biter, merging flavor and textures.

Rogues Bar

Rogues Bar is a new lounge in the Intercontinental with lavish art deco elements and jazz songs playing from the jukebox. Their signature menu is inspired by capital cities around the world. The Salute To The World is intended to evoke the atmosphere of grandiose Gatsby parties, while the Samurai Angel is inspired by Taantino's cult movie "Kill Bill," a smokey, spirit-heavy drink featuring matcha tea and chocolate bitters. Snacks include Western and Thai-style sausages such as Northern sai oua, handmade chicken boudin blanc, and the spicy creole sausage.

Brut

Brut is a small speakeasy bar hidden in Ari, and they kept things quiet up until the opening.. The owners are influenced by brutalist architecture, film, photography, and literature, and the venue is intimate and sleek, outfitted with concrete walls, metal beams, and red lighting. The menu strives to highlight the materials utilized in the bar's construction while also paying homage to the owners' inspirations. Cocktails include Refraction, a flowery and aromatic cocktail made with gin, jasmine syrup, citric, chrysanthemum, tonic, club soda, and dill. There's also the 1950s, which features matcha and lemon sous-vide gin, Campari, aloe vera, citric, fever-tree tonic, and squid ink—light and refreshing.
