The deal: For $45, you get a four course lunch at Singapore’s best known fine dining joint, including dishes like tomato mozzarella salad, French onion soup with cheese toast, and black cod grenobloise-style.

Why it’s worth it: There’s no more affordable way to dine at the iconic 20 year-old establishment. Ok, so the food doesn’t provide the excitement of some of the newer names on the restaurant scene. But it’s a historied space, which continues to draw the city’s movers and shakers.     

We don’t need to tell you about this internationally-renowned restaurant, but you should know about their four-course lunch menu ($85 for a starter, a pasta dish, a main and dessert), which changes every one or two months. Expect elegant preparations like venison with pumpkin and coffee. Herbivores are well-catered for here, too.

This “Japanese-inspired meat atelier” is all about the beef and their lunch sets allow you to try the top-notch stuff without breaking the bank. Dishes like Wagyu salad ($48) and foie gras and Wagyu donburi ($38) come padded with miso soup, salad and dessert.

This Italian establishment features a three-course set for $38, including coffee or tea. With three choices for both starters and mains, select from dishes such as porcini mushroom ravioli and truffle cream sauce. Treats like truffle gelato end the meal on a sweet note.

For $30, get a three-course set lunch including French classics like endive salad with blue cheese, walnut and apples and duck leg confit with leek-pommery mash. If you’re still hungry, add indulgent sides such as truffled fries ($6).

Courtesy of the Les Amis folks, this casual Vietnamese outfit is helmed by owner, director and chef Nam Quoc Nguyen. Going for just $9.90, the set lunch comprises fresh summer rolls stuffed with shrimp, as well as chicken or beef pho, plus iced coffee or tea.

At $58 for three courses or $88 for five courses, this is an ideal spot for important business lunches and ladies who lunch. Tuck into dishes like ballotine of quail and foie gras, and 60-second saba fillet with smoked ratte potato. Then, finish with treats such as Bounty Gourmandise (coconut mousse, passion fruit heart and milk chocolate ganache).

Minimal and modern but still unmistakably Japanese, this 56-seater specializes in kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) and serves lunch sets with seven sticks for $75. Offerings change seasonally but might include Kurobuta pork and mushroom with cream cheese.

The restaurant upholds his philosophy of contemporary French food as seen in the seasonal set lunch offerings ($38, includes coffee or tea). Enjoy mains like angel hair pasta with seafood and chili, and grilled striploin with béarnaise sauce, as well as the dessert of the day.
