Fashion with Benefits
Local multi-label e-store The Fashion Benefit (www.thefashionbenefit.org) is now taking orders for its chic, socially conscious and eco-friendly labels like Indego Africa, new Spanish label Skunkfunk and homegrown brand Aijek ($15 upwards)—just in time for the festivities ahead. Besides stocking a handful of fashion change-makers, the online shopping site also donates US$5 to a charity partner, which rotates every six months.

Now Threading
Local labels A.K.A Wayward, Weekend Sundries and Mandy Wu have recently launched their latest collections at one of our favorite indie stores, Threadbare & Squirrel (660 North Bridge Rd., 6396-6738, www.threadbareandsquirrel.com). For sombre looks, check out A.K.A Wayward’s “Blackness & Silence” line ($89 upwards) with its moody vibe through the use of drapes, capes and high collars. Weekend Sundries, on the other hand, showcased a much more cheery collection of “brunch-wear” in muted shades ($119 upwards), while designer Mandy Wu continues to put out fiercely stylish jewelry, like a silver cuff and scary “teeth” accessories, this season ($98 upwards).

Shoed in
More fancy footwear for shoe addicts: Parisian accessories house Roger Vivier, the luxury brand responsible for creating the modern stiletto heel in 1954, has opened its first standalone boutique in Southeast Asia at #02-12F Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Ngee Ann City, 6737-8444, www.rogervivier.com). Also landing at the increasingly hip Takashimaya is Italian label ASH (#03-02A Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Ngee Ann City, 6887-4695, www.ashitalia.it) for your fix of cool sneaker-wedges and edgy punk-rock boots ($185 upwards). Read more about these stores in our upcoming issues.
