SINGAPORE RESTAURANT

Sacha & Sons

This deli brings us the authentic taste of New York with favorites like dill pickles, smoked fish, matzah ball soup and specially made pastrami.

Wild Honey are bringing the authentic taste of a New York deli to sunny Singapore with all the deli favorites like dill pickles, smoked fish, latkes and matzah ball soup. There's also specially made pastrami, together with deli must-haves like corned beef and roast beef. You can also get your sandwiches with coffee from Common Man Roasters or home brewed sodas.

The buzz: Wild Honey’s success prompted the owners to open a New York-style deli serving pastrami, corned beef, latkes and bagels in the former space the popular brunch spot occupied.

The vibe: A contemporary Jewish deli without the greasy floors and dated Americana décor. It’s all about kitschy vintage accents, customized 1950s diner-like fonts, dark wood panelled furniture, feature walls and a chalkboard menu.

The food: It stays true to what a typical deli serves. Think generous classic sandwiches in three sizes with pastrami, corned beef or roast beef (from $16); grilled Reubens with sauerkraut and Russian dressing (from $18); and matzo ball soups ($12). If you’re feeling greedy on your first visit, opt for the meat platter ($55) with a choice of three meats like pastrami, corned beef, chopped liver, meatloaf and roast beef. Don’t miss the chopped liver: it’s creamy, bitter and addictive. And of course there are brunch options aplenty, like corned beef and pastrami hash with fried eggs ($18) and latkes ($10-16), potato pancakes with toppings like applesauce and sour cream.

The drinks: The basics are covered: coffees (from $5), Gryphon tea ($6/pot), artisanal handmade sodas like spicy ginger ale ($5) and fresh celery syrup ($5). There are two beer options from Chiron Cone ($20), a short list of wines and cocktails like prosecco ($9/glass) and a signature bloody mary ($18/glass).

Why you’ll be back: We love their chopped liver, and their pastrami might just be the best on the island; it's thick cut, peppery and smokey (albeit a little dry).
