This is the first solo exhibition in Singapore and Southeast Asia by German artist Stephan Balkenhol. Balkenhol carves sculptures out of wood, mainly of seemingly commonplace men and women in simple clothing, which seem at once familiar yet detached. The artist proposes a story without an end by providing a fragment. His sensitive and minimalist forms allow ample space for the audience to complete the story.
