Khiri Travel has just introduced a 14-day luxurious Sri Lanka wildlife tour that involves driving around in hybrid engine cars and staying in green-accredited eco lodges. They’ll also calculate the carbon emissions for each trip and then buy those carbon credits from organizations like SNV Netherlands that works toward lowering carbon emissions and bettering the environment. Along the way, there’ll also be sites for people to plant trees to signify the offsetting of carbon footprint.

The wildlife aspects of this tour involves big cat spotting at the Wilpattu National Park, staying in a treehouse, going on a boat safari where you’ll get to see elephants swim from island to island and blue whale spotting at Dondra Head. Accommodation options range from eco beach cabanas to luxury tented camps and eco lodges, all top of the range and with modern day comforts no less.

Prices start at US$4,786 ($6,336) per person and includes all meals, guides and entrance fees but not airfare. Valid for travels between Mar 1 and July 31, 2015. For more info on the tour, go here
