SINGAPORE VENUE

Le Blanc by Mashu

With 11 branches in Osaka, this Japanese salon brings their carbonated water treatments to Singapore for the first time.

The buzz: With 11 branches in Osaka and 25 years of experience behind them, this Japanese hair salon recently set up their first Southeast Asian outlet at Plaza Singapura, bringing with them their signature carbonated water treatments.

The vibe: Bright and airy, with floor to ceiling walls, the space is chic with dark wood flooring and comfy white chairs. There are six head spa chairs at the shampoo area, and all are fully reclinable (so forget about having to cross your legs or let them dangle while doing the head spa treatments).

The goods: Their carbonated water treatments are pretty popular in Japan and are known as "Tansan bubble spa". We tried their signature Soda Spa Scalp Treatment (from $110) that uses carbon dioxide (in the soda water) to improve blood flow to your scalp and at the same time, it also deep cleanses and rids your scalp of grease, dirt and dead skin. It’s great for people who have dry and damaged hair or are experiencing hair loss. Other treatments on offer include the anti-hair loss wash & blow (from $40) and a cut by their Japanese creative director Masaaki Ueda starts from $65 for men and $75 for ladies.

Why you’ll be back: It's a nice space for a relaxing head spa and we can’t get over how comfortable those chairs are. The carbonated water treatments really worked, too.
