The wait—in case you were waiting—is over. Apple has announced the next successors in the iPhone dynasty: the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. No surprises, both phones are bigger this time around. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch screen (11.9 cms) and the iPhone 6 Plus a whopping 5.5 inch screen (13.9 cms)—so, about the same size as the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The new iPhone 6 also has better camera focus, longer battery life, a supposed more shatter-proof screen and a new tap-to-pay mobile technology. Also announced at the conference was the new iWatch, Apple's latest move into the realm of wearable technology. Part communication medium, part fitness tracker, the Apple smartwatch will allow you to update your social media, monitor your exercise and share images (although, typical of Apple domination, it will only work if you also have an iPhone). Pretty cool, but in the words of our fashion-savvy dandy friend, "I wouldn't call the iWatch wearable."

To buy outright, the iPhone 6 starts at $988 and the iPhone 6 Plus $1,148, available in Singapore from Sep 19. All the major network providers will be getting in on the action so if you plan to pick one up on launch day, prepare for a massive crowd of overwhelmed fans.
