The Editor's Market

By Dan Koh | published Aug 05, 2010

The buzz: A wholesale bazaar with a simple concept—the more you buy, the more affordable it gets. Buy one piece at a basic price, three at a lower price, and 18 at ... you get the idea.

The vibe: Industrial chic. Think exposed wires, unfinished walls and naked light bulbs. White’s the primary color here, and with the open concept layout and huge windows overlooking *SCAPE, it feels like the loft of a New York fashionista (or fashion editor), hence the name.

The goods: A fast fashion paradise. The Editor’s Market restocks every week so that it stays ahead of the style curve. Catch up with this Fall’s trend of pale hues with a nude-colored jumpsuit ($39 for one, $35 each for three, $20 each for 18). On the denim front, the cut-off shorts ($29, $25, $14) are hot sellers. There are also black harem pants ($39, $29, $20) and free-sized tutu skirts ($32, $29, $16). The Editor’s Market is equally strong on accessories. There’s a whole hanger for aviator shades ($19, $16, $9), leather bracelets ($15, $12, $7) and mirrored bangles ($19, $16, $9). Or dig into a basket of multi-patterned scarves ($25, $19, $12)—they can be worn as hairbands, or tied to a diamond-shaped rock goddess bag ($49, $39, $29). Complete the look with a killer pair of black pumps or grey high-cut wedges (both $69, $59, $49) emblazoned with zippers and studs. Pick up something for the boys too—The Editor’s Market range of street T-shirts ($29, $22, $10) is modestly hip.

Why you’ll be back: They’re expanding to bring in even more shoes and bags at extremely accessible price points. Rally up the BFFs and go on a real shopping spree.
