Michelin-starred Jason Atherton's third and newest restaurant in Singapore is a cozy spot that seats about 30 hungry folks, with accessible eats like Jason's Very Hot Dog ($19) and The Kimchi Burger ($20). There are also fun items including a D-I-Y Tuna Tartare ($17), as well as more complex bites such as grilled bone marrow with London gentleman's relish ($18). You'll also find a compact list of wines (from $12/glass) and beers ($14-17) such as Abbot Ale ($15) and Hen's Tooth ($17) which hail from the UK.

The buzz: Jason Atherton just can’t stay away: this is his third and latest offering in under a year, and it’s in a Chinatown shophouse just a short walk away from his first, tapas bar Esquina. There’s also a very cool, password-only bar right next door.

The vibe: They’ve made a real point to keep things casual at this cozy Brit eatery  that seats about 30 (like Esquina, no  reservations are taken), with white-washed walls and pale wooden furniture. On the other hand, the speakeasy-styled bar,  complete with retro elements and old-school music, is so dark you’ll have to whip out  your iPhone just to read the cocktail list.

The food: It’s a compact menu of just 14 items, also available at the bar, with easy eats like The Kimchi Burger ($20), ibérico ham and Manchego cheese toastie ($18) and chili garlic fries ($6). Don’t fancy carboloading? Then give the D-I-Y Tuna Tartare ($17) a shot—it comes with an array of condiments including sesame seeds, wasabi mayo, chives and soy sauce so you can tailor it to your preference. Other items to try are the grilled bone marrow with caramelized onions and London gentleman’s relish ($18) and hot donuts with cinnamon ($8).

The drinks: While the restaurant’s got a short list of wines (from $12/glass) and beers ($14-17) such as Hen’s Tooth ($17)  from the UK, you’ll want to hit the bar for some well-mixed cocktails. Brace yourself for serious drinks made by folks that don’t take themselves too seriously, care of Canadian bartender Stefan Ravalli who’s done his time at Atherton’s Pollen Street Social. Tiki fans will dig Piscotheque ($18), with passion fruit, pineapple, mint leaves and BarSol Pisco going into this zingy number, served up in theatrical fashion with a pour of dry ice. The sake-spiked Moshi Moshi Umeboshi ($18) is a nice refreshing drink, too.

Why you’ll be back: They won’t be able to keep it secret forever (or even for long), but for the time being it’s the coolest spot in town.
