SINGAPORE RESTAURANT

Croûte

Brought to you by the same folks behind Hummerstons at closeby Robertson Walk, their latest project is a casual, self-service café and bakery (which means crust in French). On the blackboard menu are a list of salads (from $9) and both hot and sandwiches (from $7). As expected, all of their sarnies are made with homemade breads baked on the premises like sourdough, multigrain, ciabatta and baguette. Dig into serrano and mozz panini with tomato, avocado and herb pesto ($11) or pulled pork with slaw, chipotle bbq sauce ($11), both tasty options. They also do all-day brekkie items such as Eggs Benny ($10) and a simple maple granola with fresh fruit and yogurt ($8), as well as platters including a bread platter ($9) with your choice of three dips such as hummus or French onion. If you're in the mood for something sweet, pop by for some salted caramel cheesecake ($4.50) or a berry trifle ($5). Wash it down with some Gryphon tea ($4) or a latte ($5.50). Alternatively, grab some baked goods to go. Their signature sourdough ($7.80) is a good bet, and there's also multigrain rye ($7.80).
