Most people think of Bakerzin as a homegrown brand with yummy desserts, but it has pretty good mains too. With a large dessert counter, bright, stripy sofa seats, colorful plastic chairs and a nice view; dining here felt promising. The Assam prawns with linguini was tasty, and so was the spaghetti with meatballs. But what we really liked was the seafood flaky pizza —the seafood was fresh, there was just the right amount of cheese and the crust was crispy and did not collapse when we bit into it. We also ordered a tapas 3 for dessert (pick any three)—with vanilla crème brulee; chocolate and caramel ice cream with hazelnut crispies; and banana pizza with cinnamon ice cream. The vanilla was decent and the chocolate and caramel dessert was great, but the banana pizza was too sweet and mushy. If not for the so-so service, this would have been a very pleasant dining experience.

Reviews are written from a typical diner’s perspective. A dining experience includes more than just food; ratings are also based on service, atmosphere and fun. Ratings are awarded in accordance with the type of restaurant reviewed, so the city’s best wonton noodle stall could earn a “not to be missed” rating while a fancy French restaurant could be a “forget it.”
