BROTH is set to close at the end of this month, but with endings come new beginnings at Duxton Hill. Part of Au Petit Salut's old team (also a mainstay in the French fine dining scene) have opened another French fine dining venue, Rhubarb le Restaurant.

Heading the kitchen is chef Paul Longworth, who was Au Petit Salut's executive chef before opening this place. He's got quite a pedigree with stints in Michelin-starred Club Gascon and the popular London joint Blueprint Cafe. No doubt he'll be pushing out pretty plates of modern French fare with dishes like Japanese scallops with pork belly, crisp chicken skin, cauliflower and white chocolate; and pigeon with rhubarb, rose puree and Aussignac-style crunchy grapes. It's certainly got us drooling. On the service side, after working alongside the chef at Au Petit Salut, restaurant manager Jerome Desfonds also jumped ship and has come to run the show at Rhubard le Restaurant.

It's not the cheapest option on the block with starters averaging around $22 and mains hitting the $40 region, but you can expect a seasonally-rotating menu with lunches starting at $42 for three courses and degustation menus starting at $128.
