Min Chan, proprietor of Club Street Social, has opened a 12-seat Asian Mexican eatery Pistola on Club Street nearby her Gemmill Lane bar.

The place serves soft flour tacos ($14), burritos ($16), quesadillas ($14) and rice bowls ($15). Each comes with a choice of fillings including chicken tikka, Korean galbi beef and five-spice pork carnitas. Sides include a corn cup ($5) with kaffir lime, gula melaka and toasted coconut flakes, Mexican tomato or sesame rice ($5) as well as chips and salsa ($8).

Drinkwise, expect frozen slushie cocktails ($14)—pina colada, mango mezcal margarita and Bourbon coke—dispensed from an old school machine. There’s no service charge and they instead use an empty tomatillo can as a tip jar.

Another newbie in the area is Le Petit Navire, a French seafood place on Ann Siang Road serving a wide range of chilled seafood such as prawn cocktail and crab salad (five items for $38 or 10 for $74) as well as hot dishes like lobster pasta ($38).
