As delicious and indulgent as Western food can be, sometimes we all seek respite in familiar flavors. We round up a list of new Asian restaurants to hit up when you've got your next craving.

Choo Choo Chicken

This Korean fried chicken joint serves their signature dish in three different sauces: sweet, spicy, or a soya sauce-based creation. Much like other Korean fried chicken restaurants, they also serve other dishes like Korean rice cakes with kimchi, tuna or spam and a fried chicken burger.

Khun Mee Thai

At this casual noodle bar serving Thai-Chinese food, you'll find some of Bangkok's most delicious street food interpretations. Don't miss their Ba Mee, the Thai equivalent of our wanton mee egg noodle dish.

KOI Bangers + Izakaya

Koi's second outlet graces Haji Lane's buzzing streets with their playful take on bangers and mash, as well as modern Japanese sushi, rolls and gyozas. We hear their Saturday night all-you-can-eat option gets pretty crazy, specially after a beer or three.

Slake

A East-siders dream, this fusion Vietnamese-Peranakan gastropub takes cues from Western cuisine for their sharing platters concept. We hear the coconut cream clams and Asian pesto noodles are a hit, and they've also got a decent wine selection of New World bottlings.

Shima

Although this teppanyaki restaurant is one of the oldest in Singapore, they've recently undergone a pretty extensive month-long renovation. Rolling out their new look, expect lots more of your favorite dishes from garlic fried rice to fresh Japanese seafood.
