Singapore's token Caribbean restaurant, Lime House, is playing host to an undoubtedly cacophonous party complete with costumes, their famous jerk chicken and infectious Afro beats courtesy of their in-house DJs. This edition of the Liming Carnival (Aug 24) is set to bring the best of Trinidad, Rio and even Notting Hill to their Jiak Chuan premises.

And if you're craving some Lime House food but can't justify the lunch rush, fret not. They've just opened a CBD offshoot, Lime Deli, serving up their signature sunny Afro-Caribbean nosh. The grab-and-go deli caters to the "time is money" lunch crowd with affordable offerings like a chicken calypso salad ($7), curried pumpkin soup ($4), Jamaican beef and chicken patties (from $4) and 11 different sandwiches including a coffee jerk beef ($7). If you've got more time, they've also got heftier eat-in meals like the jerk beef burger ($13), chicken curry ($11), and their famous jerk chicken ($12) - all of which come with two sides.

For the early risers, the deli also has freshly-baked breads and pastries like blueberry muffins, chocolate croissants and even a jackfruit strudel ranging between $2.50 and $3.

On a completely unrelated "lime" note, Fiji Water's pop-up Lime Truck brings Food Network's "The Great Food Truck Race" winner Daniel Shemtob's SoCal cuisine to the streets of Singapore. Expect dishes like fish ceviche tostadas, and blue crab and jicama tacos at two different locations this coming weekend.
