The view doesn't only come when you're atop a skyscraper. Here's what you'll find and who you'll see at these low slung rooftop gems.

Pick on of these destinations for a quaint, cozy and quirky night next time you're looking to spend a balmy night out. Our handy guide breaks down the place, what you should drink and who you'll see at this low slung gems.

Breeze

The place: The fourth floor of The Scarlet hotel is home to lush tiled space with lots of colorful furniture and an all-glass kitchen and grill.
What you’ll drink: Fruity cocktails like Graciously Scarlet ($18) with gin, raspberries, ginger beer, raspberry liqueur and lime juice.
Who you’ll see: Unpretentious and chill types who want to avoid the Club Street madness.

Chateaux

The place: Don’t be fooled by this luxe boutique club. It’s also possibly the only place you’ll find a rooftop on the Circular Road stretch. Slated to open this year-end, the rooftop is cozy and at a comfortable four floors above the ground.
What you’ll drink: Champagne and vodka mixers from the bottle (starting at $200), of course.
Who you’ll see: Pretty young things: mostly hip and energetic clubgoers who have emerged from the darkness for a breath of fresh air.

Hi So

The place: What you’d expect from a swish five-star hotel, it’s all bedazzled in gold tiles, timber floors and breezy canvas cabanas.
What you’ll drink: Vintage Art de Ruinart Champagne ($150/bottle) with all the other models.
Who you’ll see: A mix of socialites and their best gal pals, edgy models lounging in the cabana space and lots of French expats with inside jokes.

Kinki

The place: Overlooking the Marina Bay, views don’t get any better for such a low-lying bar. There’s a DJ booth that’s surrounded by those swaying to the beats and a grungy off-limits rooftop vibe.
What you’ll drink: Japanese-tinged and refreshing tipples like the signature Ume Mojito ($20) with rum, umeshu, lime and mint leaves.
Who you’ll see: Sexy bohemian expats with their backless, maxi dress-wearing girlfriends on their arms.

La Terrazza

The place: Once you make it up the five-story trek, you’ll be rewarded with a resort-like space full of potted frangipanis. The view is pretty neat too as it overlooks Chinatown and a Buddhist temple.
What you’ll drink: Easy cocktails like mojitos ($17) and lots of beers (from $12) like Hoegaarden and Corona.
Who you’ll see: The small alfresco space is full of sweaty people. Most of them are expats but there are also locals looking for weekend drinks.

Oxwell & Co.

The place: Relatively unobstructed by the Club Street vicinity, it’s got great views of the CBD and Duxton Hill. The space that’s overflowing with herbs isn’t too big and has a red London phone booth for added quirk.
What you’ll drink: Head bartender Luke Whearty’s kooky cocktail concoctions like their homemade mulled wine ($22) and cocktails (starting at $12) with fresh herbs from the rooftop garden.
Who you’ll see: A diverse crowd of after-work execs from the area. The weekends see a more “I’m a regular” Club Street crowd.

Potato Head Folk

The place: Beautifully decorated with wrought iron mismatched garden furniture, there are potted plants haphazardly (but intentionally) placed around the space. There are tons of fairy lights and kitschy sculptures to add to the whimsy.
What you’ll drink: All manners of tiki drinks complete with tropical fruits, umbrellas and the works. Head straight for the rum-based Caribbean Fruit Cup ($115), perfect for sharing.
Who you’ll see: A hip-n-happening bunch who claim they knew about cool new places before you.

Prelude

The place: Tucked away in the corner of the Fullerton Bay, this place is a little hard to access. You’ll be rewarded with a spacious third floor space that’s decked out in minimal wooden furniture, fairy lights and a gorgeous view of the bay.
What you’ll drink: Mojitos ($18-19) galore. They’ve got tons of refreshing flavors apt for the balmy Marina Bay weather.
Who you’ll see: Lots of CBD execs who know about this hidden gem. It’s never crowded or super raucous, so everyone’s chill and minds their business.

Mr Punch Rooftop Bar

The place: A long and narrow space with lots of dark wood and kitschy vintage signs. It’s got lots of half-levels so watch out for the stairs.
What you’ll drink: Martinis (all $22). They’ve got a dedicated section to the classic cocktail but go for the Mandarin Martini on a hot night out.
Who you’ll see: Sloppier regulars who treat it like their neighborhood joint and the City Hall after work crowd.

Southbridge

The place: A minimalist space with geometric and linear high stools and tables, as well as a large black marble bar that splits the square rooftop space into two. It’s also pretty dim which plays up the twinkling CBD lights.
What you’ll drink: Champagne (starting at $18/glass, $120/bottle). No drinks compare to bubblies when slurping down oysters.
Who you’ll see: The chill but classier Boat Quay crowd. Think men in linen shirts and ladies in classy shifts who are looking for a downtempo space away from the maddening crowd.
