Lantern

This latest rooftop boîte boasts expansive views of the Marina Bay area. Appropriately decked out in lanterns, the bar pays tribute to Clifford Pier’s old moniker “Red Lantern Pier.” Sip on the very aptly named Red Lantern—a tequila, Cointreau, cucumber and watermelon concoction, or make a toast with the Merlion (rum-lime-pomelo-honey-bitters) cocktail as you catch the NDP fireworks.
Rooftop, The Fullerton Bay Hotel, 80 Collyer Quay, 6597-5299. Open daily noon-2am.

Prelude

Nestled atop The Fullerton Waterboat House, Prelude is another terrific alternative to the parade. Located in the vicinity of the Padang (you can hear the Parade commander from up here) and away from the hoi polloi, you can sip Japanese beer and Earl Grey-infused cocktails. When you’re feeling the buzz, sing “Stand Up for Singapore” from the rooftops as the huge Chinook choppers fly the State Flag above you.
#04-01 The Waterboat House, 3 Fullerton Rd., 6538-9038. Open Mon-Thu 6pm-midnight; Fri-Sat 6pm-2am.

OverEasy

The gastrobar's convenient location just off the Padang gives you the option of being in the thick of the action without being overwhelmed by it. Order a round of delicious Singapore Slings, pull up some chairs on the alfresco deck and wait for the fireworks. You can also tuck into NDP specials like one-for-one spicy wings and Patron XO Coffee Liqueur at $198.
#01-06 One Fullerton, 1 Fullerton Rd., 6423-0701. Open Mon-Thu 5pm-1am; Fri-Sat 5pm-4am.
