Race Against Malaysia For Charity

By Hidayah Salamat | published Sep 03, 2010

Marathon runners—this one's for you. Singapore will be participating in a unique virtual running competition against Malaysia as part of the Nike City 10K championships celebrated in 22 cities around the world. Besides the physical races in each city, you can also compete by clocking in mileage from now till Oct 31 using the Nike+SportBand gadget and accessory. The city with the most kilometers clocked in will win a US$30,000 donation from Nike to their respective charities—how cool is that?

Registration for the Nike City 10K opens today for both the Open Category (Men/Women) and the Under 25 Category (Men/Women) at $35 for all runners aged 25 years and above. Registration includes an event t-shirt, a pre-printed number bib and a finisher's award for all participants who finish the race. Signing up for the event also entitles you to 50 percent off the Nike+SportBand, which you will need if you want to participate in the virtual race between Singapore and Malaysia.
