It was all over the web—local hip hop band Sixx, headed by Kevin Lester of "Rockstar" fame was set to open for day two of SINGfest.
"Playing for SINGfest is a sign of progression. We really thought our moment had finally arrived," Lester lamented. As the brainchild behind Sixx, Lester took it the worst.
"The whole idea kind of began with me so I took it really badly when we found out we couldn't play due to time constraint. It was borderline devastating," said Lester.
One thing's for sure though; this experience has showed the band how supportive their local fans can be. "It was cool that everyone was supporting us. People were retweeting us on Twitter and some came up to give us words of encouragement," Lester shared. Lester recently racked up popularity votes when his "Rockstar" music video went viral a few months ago.
On a less sombre note, homegrown indie rock band The Great Spy Experiment will be rocking the stage on day three of SINGfest. Let's hope the organizers make time for this one.
