With tons of of bands visting us for one-off gigs, we've been on a ticket buying frenzy (just kidding, we get media tickets ...sometimes). Especially exciting is the chance to catch big- and medium- deal bands in small venues, eg. The Drums at TAB and grungy psychedelic rockers Tonstartssbandht at Blu Jaz. Read on!

Chvrches (Nov 21)

Concert promoters The Gathering (who have brought us world-class acts like Empire of the Sun and Travis) bring in Chvrches, well-known for their feel-good synthpop jams. The band released their debut studio album in 2013, and came in fifth on the BBC's Sound of 2013 list of most promising new music talents.

Bill Callahan (Nov 30)

A baritone folk singer in an intimate venuepoetic types, don't miss this one. American folk singer-songwriter Bill Callahan, formerly Smog, will make his Singapore debut (and will no doubt make us cry with his broody "Riding for the Feeling") for a one night only, solo performance with his newest album Have Fun With God. Joining him on stage is Singapore’s very own Leslie Low with a solo acoustic set.

Hoobastank (Nov 30)

Relive high school glory days as Hoobastank returns to Singapore  for a one-night only concert. The band will be touring in support of their latest album 'Fight or Flight'. The Flaming Lips (Dec 1)

Listed among Q Magazine’s list of 50 bands to watch before you die, the psychedelic rock group is heading our way. The band is well-known for their extravagant stage shows, featuring everything from balloons, puppets and video projections to copious amounts of confetti, so come prepared.

Tenacious D (Dec 2)

Love him or hate him, Jack Black and Tenacious D (aka the self-proclaimed "greatest band in the world") are coming to Singapore. The parody-heavy band has recorded three albums, starred in their own eponymous television series and even released their own film titled Tenacious D In the Pick of Destiny. Their high self-regard is charming. Trust us.

The Drums (Dec 5)

Since they last visited us, this Brooklyn-based indie pop outfit is now just down to a duo, consisting of Jonny Pierce and Jacob Graham. They're back  for a one-night only concert and will be performing songs from their new album Encyclopedia, and hopefully a few of their earlier singles like "Let's Go Surfing" and "Me and the Moon".

Tonstartssbandht (Dec 6)

Two psychedelic rockers from Florida will be making a pit stop in Singapore as part of their Asian tour. Made up of brothers Edwin and Andy, the duo will perform their ethereal melodic tunes from their newest album, Overseas
