Best for: Shopaholics and cocktail maestros.
The goods: The plush hotel at the edge of Orchard Road has botanical touches both outside and inside their garden-themed rooms. On our preview, we loved the cheesy rose petals in the bathtub and hand-drawn hearts on the mirror. But the best part is the in-room DIY chocolate martini cocktail set with ingredients and instructions for a fun-filled nightcap. Plus, you get discounts at Club21 shops whenever you stay here, no matter the season.
The food: There’s no in-room meal included in the package, but you can order in some nice classics: wagyu burgers ($41), Caesar salad ($22), penne Amatriciana with smoked pancetta ($30) and Asian dishes like nasi goreng ($23). Or head down to One-Ninety restaurant and gorge on the Mezze buffet ($58/person).

Ritz-Carlton Millenia
Best for: Those who’d rather gorge than canoodle.
The goods: Known for luxury, a Ritz- Carlton staycation doesn’t disappoint. The Valentine’s Day promo gets you a night in the spacious 646 sq. ft. corner Premier Suite, complete with an oversized bathroom, living room and bedroom. The stay also involves breakfast-in-bed, a butler-drawn bath with rose petals forming a heart atop the bubbles, Louis Roederer Champagne and strawberries and cream. Plus, you get killer bay views while soaking in the tub.
The food: You also get a special four-course set dinner involving a salmon platter, asparagus soup and a choice of two mains: sea perch and shrimp or beef tenderloin. Dessert’s pretty impressive, too with a pink chocolate dome revealing a light lychee martini-like cream cake.

Pan Pacific Orchard
Best for: Seafood and spa fiends.
The goods: Tucked behind major malls just behind Orchard Road this hotel is a contemporary respite from the hustle and bustle. The Studio rooms are an ample 570 sq. ft. with an open plan living and bedroom area. The extra dose of romance comes from the Champagne, handmade chocolates and a bouquet of roses sitting in your room when you arrive, but for extra pampering, there’s also a $100 St. Gregory spa voucher.
The food: The package includes a buffet dinner at 10 at Claymore that is a decadent affair with live seafood like oysters and crayfish on ice and a wide array of made-to-order Chinese classics. There’s also a breakfast-in-bed but don’t expect anything out of the ordinary, just a simple menu of eggs, toasts and jams.

W Hotel Sentosa Cove
Best for: Young energetic party types.
The goods: A stay in the Spectacular AWAY room is pretty breathtaking. As expected, everything’s modern and sleek with pops of color in an otherwise muted space. The bathroom is psychedelic with ornate mirrors backlit with red motifs (if you find that sort of thing sexy), and the view of Sentosa Cove from your bathtub is gorgeous on a clear day. Here, it’s all about the possibility to party it up while feeling miles away from Singapore.
The food: The package comes with breakfast in bed but expect modern dishes in the in-room dining menu. Everything’s pretty well-executed from the foie gras pâté and duck rillettes ($24) and garlic flamed prawns penne ($24) to the roasted lamb shank with white beans and truffle ($32) and shellfish stew rissoni pasta ($28).

The Raffles Hotel
Best for: Marriage proposals.
The goods: V-Day at this historic hotel is predictably grand with a stay in one of their suites, one of which is the gargantuan Courtyard Suite overlooking the gardens. Everything is fancy: from the 14-foot ceilings, pick-up and drop-off in a Bentley or classic Daimler, Singapore Slings, Champagne and flowers on arrival. The rooms are all decked out in period furnishings, so you can soak up the colonial aristocratic vibes.
The food: The package includes buffet breakfast in the Tiffin Room, but consider paying extra for room service and having it on your the balcony, overlooking the private courtyard. Choose from (deep breath) Continental, American, English, healthy, dim sum, congee and a la carte breakfast menus; as well as specialities like buttermilk pancakes.
The damage: $1,130 per night in Palm Court Suite, valid through Feb 25.

New Majestic Hotel
Best for: Kinky types. There are ceiling mirrors in the Lifestyle room!
The goods: This 30-room boutique hotel is a quirky hideaway. Each room is decorated with different artwork and features a mix of designer and vintage furniture. They’re not the most spacious of rooms, but the romance lies in the coziness and small touches like chocolates, rose petals and a half bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne. We also love the oversized tub.
The food: If you get peckish, order from the Cantonese Majestic Restaurant. The standouts include decadent specialities like crispy wasabi prawn, Peking duck and pan-seared foie gras ($20); lobster broth with scallops and crab roe ($12); and grilled lamb rack in Chinese honey and pan-fried carrot cake ($24). Plus, there’s breakfast for two in the morning.

Wanderlust Hotel
Best for: Lovers who brunch.
The goods: At this Little India shophouse gem, everything’s pretty compact, so expect craftily-used spaces. While each room has a different theme, they’re all kitschy-cute with woodland, origami and pop art-inspired spaces. A retreat here gets you breakfast for two, a half bottle of Champagne, truffles and the mandatory flower petal romantic treatment. We love the Whimsical rooms complete with faux greenery and is divided into two separate spaces by a loft bed.
The food: Although this place doesn’t do room service, per se, the downstairs restaurant Cocotte is well worth it. Head straight for the brunch trolley ($59/person) with dishes like homemade quiche, roast chicken, pork collar, salads and the addictive banana bread with Chantilly cream and salted caramel walnut. Plus, there’s an option to top up for free flow Prosecco ($99/person).
The damage: $349 per night for Mono, Mono Deluxe and Whimsical rooms, valid through Apr 30.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel
Best for: Fashionable types who love a great view, cocktails and food.
The goods: You can hardly go wrong with a night at this modern bayside hotel. If possible, go straight for the corner room that gives you views of Marina Bay Sands and the surrounding CBD area. Romance here means that the room comes with rose petals, a pair of teddies and a bottle of wine to star things off on the right note. Plus, the room's modern but warm and the bed is absolutely heavenly. Don't miss out evening cocktails at rooftop bar Lantern, it's just another one of the highlights here.
The food: A stay here includes a three-course in-room dinner. Although the food's kept classic, each dish has modern touches. Expect dishes like pigeon lasagne with porcini mushroom, lobster bisque with a delightfully crisp slice of bread and a choice of mains like truffle-crusted veal tenderloin or scampi with seabass. Plus, you get a breakfast buffet at The Clifford the morning after.
