1. Para-swimmer Theresa Goh scooped Singapore’s first medal at the Asian Para Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea on Sunday. The Singaporean finished third taking home a bronze in the 100m women’s breaststroke, only behind Taipei and Japan who won gold and silver respectively. Go team Singapore!

2. Our national carrier, Singapore Airlines, made headlines on Saturday when a flight from Singapore to Mumbai was struck by serious turbulence while descending, injuring 22 people. The A380 jumbo jet was carrying 408 passengers and 25 crew and the event resulted in 10 crew and 8 passengers being hospitalized. According to SIA, all of the crew members and six of the passengers have since been cleared and discharged from the hospital.  

3. If you’ve been to Universal Studios's hugely popular annual Halloween Horror Nights, you’ll know that the scare actors do a pretty good job of, well, frightening people. But over the weekend, a few of the scare actors have spoken about how they’ve been mistreated by the public. They’ve reportedly been slapped, groped and punched by patrons, with one guest going as far as threatening to set an actress on fire. Crew members are now placed around the haunted houses to ensure that guests do not touch the actors.

4. You can now view rare artifacts from the Zhongshan Warship, which got shot down by Japanese fighter jets in the Sino-Japanese war and remained submerged in the Yangtze River for 59 years. The Zhongshan Warship & its Treasures exhibition at the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall will be the first time these relics have been available for public viewing outside China. The exhibition will run till Apr 19 2015 and entry is free.   

5. Actor Gurmit Singh’s 17-year-old daughter, Gabrielle Virk, penned an open letter to fashion retailer Forever 21 on her blog, blasting the 313@Somerset store’s controversial song choices that contained “misogynistic, uncensored, woman-shaming lyrics.” Her post went viral after Gurmit shared it on his Facebook page, garnering over 7000 likes and 1300 shares before he took it down. Forever 21 has since apologized and clarified that the song was from a staff’s personal playlist.
