A Beginner’s Guide to Betting
Let’s face it, not every game is going to be thrilling. For every Brazil vs. Portugal match-up, there’s an Algeria vs. Slovenia. To make things a little more exciting, have a bit of a gamble. These are some of the many ways you can have a flutter. All bets except Championship Winner are based on the fulltime scores after 90 minutes of each match. Injury time is included but not extra time or penalties.

1X2—The simplest way to do it; win lose or draw. Pick the Home team or the Away Team to win, or put money on X if you anticipate a draw.

Pick the Score—Pick the final score for the match from 36 options on offer. Everything from 0-0 to 5-4 or “any other score.”

Total Goals—Take a guess at the total number of goals you expect to see in a match.

First Scorer—If you like the look of a specific player, put money on him knocking in the game’s first goal.

Last Scorer—Pick the player who you think will finish the job, or notch a consolation goal.

Team to Score First—Decide which side you think will get on the scoreboard first.

Championship Winner—Invest in the future and put your money on the team you think will reign supreme at the end of the tournament.

Halftime-Fulltime—You bet on who will be leading at the end of each half, or if it will be a draw. For example, if you think the home team will be leading at halftime, but the final result will be a draw, you pick Home and Draw.

½ Goal—Before each match, depending on the strength of the teams, a handicap is assigned. If you bet on a weaker team with a +1½ goal handicap, you win if they avoid losing by two goals or more. If you pick a stronger team with a -1½ handicap, they need to win by two goals or more for you to get your money.
